Tembo village is simply THE BEST!

Our family just had a two week visit to Tembo Village and were 100% satisfied with everything! The food was superb, just fantastic, the staff was friendly and kind and the owners became like friends to us. Tembo village is a real diamond when it comes to small get-a-ways. It's nicely decorated, the rooms are big and the pool area is really cozy and nicely planned. And the food at the restaurant gave nice surprises for the all 14 days with 3 meals a day. We didn't have one bad lunch or dinner! We recommend both the hotel and the restaurant with all our hearts. Thank you Bettina, Peter, Dennis and all of you who made our vacation unforgetable!

After having been bored to death with the food in various resorts, where they tend to provide a (generally poor) copy of the food you have at home in Europe, it is such a relief to discover the varied, astonishingly fair priced and above all, delicious kitchen of the Tembo Village Restaurant. Varied meat and fish dishes, fresh products, prepared in a surprising mix of Kenyan, European, Creole or Asian style, and all of the dishes of very high quality. I must agree with another Tripadvisor member who wrote that this was the best restaurant he/she tried in Kenya: ditto. Each table has a beautiful, private corner. The decoration of the beautiful gardens is stylish, very African and homely too. I can full heartedly recommend this place!

Excellent Lunch

We just had the seafood 5 course lunch on a Wednesday evening and it was fantastic value. On the Friday I decided to see what else was on offer and had pork chop in onion and cream sauce that absolutely melted in the mouth. If this kind of food is served regular and the prices remain competitive then I can see this place becoming THE place to eat in Watamu.

Didn't stay at the hotel but had a wonderful Sunday lunch, thank you to Peter and Bettina and their staff. It is something not to miss. Excellent value for money in the most beautiful of surroundings. We will definately be back and would be happy to take and recommend to friends and family

Terrassen-Restaurant im Guest House Tembo Village in Watamu. Wir haben selten so gut in Afrika gegessen wie im Tembo Village. Alle Speisen werden absolut frisch und geschmackvoll zubereitet. Die Karte ist sehr vielfältig. Von kleinen Vorspeisen über ein 5- Gang Menü bis zur Nachspeise. Das Angebot liegt bei einer großen Auswahl an verschiedenen Fischgerichten bis zum Putensteak und Salat. Das Essen ist eine Mischung aus afrikanischer, europäischer und indischer Küche. Das Restaurante befindet sich im tropischen Garten des Guest Houses und ist sehr urig und gemütlich. Das Personal ist super freundlich, hilfsbereit und geht auch auf Sonderwünsche ein. Die Besitzerin Bettina lädt mit ihrem freundlichen Wesen zu häufigen Besuchen ein und steht einem immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Auf diesem Wege nochmal Danke für alles.
